Thankfulness Thursday – Motivation for My Family & Resisting Temptation on Whole 30 Day 3

Riding home from an errand yesterday afternoon, all I could do was smile.  My heart just overflowed with gratitude for my family.  Sometimes I am just so very thankful for them that I could burst!  They bring so much joy and laughter to my life.  I am looking forward to becoming a healthier wife and mommy for them during this Whole30 journey.  I’ve already noticed a difference in my children’s eating habits simply because of the over abundance of produce in the home.  They are all trying things they wouldn’t even touch before, and we are running out of produce before my next shopping trip!  God is so good and faithful to help us live the abundant life when we strive to live in His will for us!

On a not so pleasant note, I miss DAIRY–my Greek yogurt and cheese!  I’m not used to eating animal protein for each meal.  In fact, thinking about it makes me feel a little ill.  I’m just not a big meat eater.  I like meat, but it is not something I desire to eat regularly.  It just feels odd to me.

I have to confess while fixing meals for my children, I’ve felt the urge to pinch off a bite of cheese.  I just remind myself that no food is worth physical pain or damage to my body.  I’m looking forward to reintroducing dairy after the 30 days so I can determine if it is the culprit, and I pray it is not!  I don’t like complaining, so to end this Whole 30 day on a bright note–I’m grateful for the Lord giving me power to resist the temptation to cheat.  Just like with anything new, if you stay consistent and ask for help from the Lord He is faithful to help you persevere.
