Wise Tip Wednesday – The Wisest Tip I Will Ever Give You

The wisest tip I will ever be able to give you is to put God first in every single thought, word and deed.  I see so many people worrying about so many things, most of it comes down to economics.  I am sad to say many of the people I see worrying about money profess to be Christians.  They say they love God, yet they worry about money for either themselves or others.  I have to admit, I can be one of those people sometimes.  Since closing my virtual assistant business, I’ve had to rely completely on God and His provision.  We should spend time in God’s Word every day, but during these times one verse sticks in my mind more than any other:

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
 
If I would just simply focus on God, His Word, serving and obeying Him, then I would have nothing to worry about.  He promises that He will take care of everything as long as we seek Him first.  I’m not seeking Him first when I am compromising what I know is right just to get what I want or fulfill what I think I need. 
 
People will compromise their beliefs or what they profess to believe, just to elect a President who promises economic growth.  Did you know that 54% of evangelical Christians will compromise having a moral president to elect one who promises wealth?  That is astonishing to me. 
 
It pains me to say that many people will justify participating in something that is morally wrong just for the financial sake and benefit of themselves or someone else (or what they perceive to be what is best–only God knows what is best). 
 
It is not just enough to believe in God for even the demons and satan believe in God.  It is a matter of being a follower of God, living in full obedience and surrender to His will.  We cannot follow God if part of the time you are wandering in an area you know He would not condone.  
 
satan has fooled us all at one time or another into thinking that God understands if we disobey Him and that he will make an exception for us.  Who do we think that we are having the audacity to believe this?   This is like a parent setting up household rules, but then making habitual exception to the rules.  What kind of children does that mold?  Those who have no discipline, spoiled, manipulative, unruly children, who don’t respect or fear their parents.  We have some nerve acting like we know better than God or can improve upon what He has said or done! We wouldn’t allow our children to act this way.  What makes us think it’s ok for us to treat GOD this way?
 
It is my firm belief based on scripture that IF WE DO WHAT WE KNOW IS IN GOD’S WORD AND WILL, then He will keep His promises. 
 
Therefore, we don’t have to worry about whether or not the economy is booming, and we don’t have to make choices that compromise God’s truth.  The Bible, God’s Word and Truth, is very clear on this.  In fact, below are some verses that will help you on your quest to put God first in everything you say, think and do.  Let’s stop compromising and start living the abundant life of God’s will today!
 
   

Matthew 6:31-33         

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:19-21         

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Galatians 2:20         

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Matthew 6:24         

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Proverbs 16:3        

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

2 Timothy 2:15         

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Matthew 22:37         

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

2 Peter 3:9         

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Proverbs 3:1-35     

My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
